Beall-Dawson House

Beall-Dawson House is at 103 W. Montgomery Ave. in Beall-Dawson Historical Park. This restored 1815 house is furnished in period. The Federal exterior complements its interior, which is designed in the neoclassic style of Robert Adam. Changing exhibits are displayed. The small brick building to the rear of the house was the original dairy house. Docents detail the daily life and culture of the house's upper-class Montgomery County residents and the slaves who labored there.
Allow 30 minutes minimum.

Rock Creek Regional Park

Rock Creek Regional Park is 4 mi. e. on SR 28, then 2 mi. n. on Muncaster Mill Rd. to Avery Rd. The park contains hiking and bicycle trails, an archery range and golf courses. Lake Needwood offers canoe, pedal boat and rowboat rentals Memorial Day through Labor Day, and Lake Frank allows fishing. Meadowside Nature Center has interactive exhibits and nature trails. The Needwood Queen offers 15-minute lake cruises on weekends and holidays, May through September.
Picnicking is permitted.

Stonestreet Museum of 19th Century Medicine is on the grounds of the Beall-Dawson House at 103 W. Montgomery Ave. Included in the Beall-Dawson House tour, this 1852 one-room building exhibits antiquated medical instruments, apothecary accessories and period furniture in a former doctor's office.
